The head of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Thapanee Kiathphaiboon, confirmed that there are no plans to revise the current visa-free regime for Russian citizens this year. She noted that visa entry rules remain unchanged for all countries and Russians will still be able to stay in Thailand without a visa for 60 days.

‘Everything remains unchanged this year. Visa rules for all countries remain the same,’ said Kiatphaiboon, adding that visa-free travel for Russians will continue next year.

Despite this, earlier the media reported that Thai Prime Minister Phetthongthang Shinawatra proposed to reduce the period of visa-free stay for foreigners from 60 to 30 days. However, according to a representative of the tourist office, the current rules remain in force and changes will not be made in the near future.

Thus, Russians can plan their trips to Thailand without worrying about possible changes in visa policy. This decision creates additional opportunities for tourists and promotes the development of tourist flow from Russia to the kingdom.
